If action is where the magic is, then planning is where action starts.
In the same way that you don’t leave on a trip without your trusty Google maps, or favourite GPS, if you are trying to create content without a plan, you are unlikely to end up where you want to be.
Planning is so important.
There are so many levels to planning, from the big picture down to the tiny details, so I am just going to focus on one today: planning your content.
Content creation is a huge part of our modern digital age for entrepreneurs. Social media and the internet, in general, is a game changer in terms of how we connect with each other and our ability to get the attention of the people who need what we have to offer.
If you don’t have a plan, you are more likely to end up spinning your wheels and going nowhere.
As entrepreneurs, we have BIG IDEAS. I get it. I have some seriously monstrous ones of my own. They can be SO big that knowing how to communicate them in a way that will connect with our people can be incredibly difficult, leaving us stuck.
I say, make a plan. Get clear on who you are trying to talk to. Know what they want. Know what they are looking for that will lead them to you. Know what they struggle with, what they need, and where they hang out. And then tune your content to their frequency.
For example, I am a writer. I am absolutely passionate about changing the conversation around lifestyle, mindset, consumerism, sustainability, health, parenting, politics, nationalism, globalism…just to name a few. Those are HUGE ideas.
How do I do that?
Well, I know I am a writer.
And I know not everyone is.
I also know that we live in a content-driven world, and there are hundreds of thousands of people out there, like you, who are passionate about changing some of those things as well.
So, I have tuned my content to reach you. I know that I can help you to create better, clearer, more intentional content that will get to the people who need to hear it.
I can talk about all those other things. This is, after all, my blog. However, I know that my time is best spent using my genius to help others reach their people. THAT is the most powerful thing I can do to create the change I wish to see in the world.
So, I got clear on who you are, what you need, what you struggle with and tuned my content to the appropriate themes to help you find me, so I can help you find your people.
